( ENSPIRE NEWS ) ‘Ghostbusters’ Cast visits Boston Children’s Hospital
The cast of the “Ghostbusters” reboot took some time off from filming the much-anticipated movie to visit some special children at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center on Saturday.
Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones all made special appearances at the children’s ward dressed in their official “Ghostbusters” jumpsuits. “Thank you for taking the time out of filming today to put a big smile on our patients faces!” the hospital wrote on its Facebook page.
And not only did the cast take time to talk with the children and their parents and pose for photographs, they even checked under a number of beds and scanned some children just to be sure there were no ghosts around, a hospital spokesperson told TODAY.com.
“They were a true delight to have today,” said Brooke Hynes, VP of Public Affairs and Communications for Tufts Medical Center. “They were so kind to all the kids and their parents. They took their time in each room visiting children as young as a few months to teens. We cannot thank them enough for the happiness and excitement they created.”
In addition to their official uniforms, the cast also carried their “Ghostbusters” proton packs, which, while usually meant for capturing ghosts, this weekend helped cheer up the hospital’s patients.
The “Ghostbusters” reboot will also star Chris Hemsworth, Michael K. Williams and will also feature a guest appearance from Dan Aykroyd. The movie, directed by Paul Feig, is slated to hit theaters July 22, 2016.
