( ENSPIRE NEWS ) Wounded Warrior Project Paints Purple Lines For Special Veteran Parking Spot
When veteran Bobby Woody was walking out of his local Lowe’s Home Improvement store, he saw something that made him stop right in his tracks. A simple sign in front of a parking space that informed all other drivers that that spot was reserved for wounded warriors only.
Along with some purple paint to outline the parking spot, this simple gesture truly touched his heart.
It turns out that many stores that appreciate their nation’s servicemen and women have begun to set up these parking spots specially reserved for Purple Heart recipients. Stores like Sam’s Club, Lowe’s, and the Home Depot have reached out to their community to show their support for our wounded veterans.
In a lot of these cases, the employees of these stores are veterans themselves who just want to show their fellow soldiers that their sacrifices have not been forgotten, and that they should be honored whenever possible. Low’s employees proudly went to work with paint rollers and purple paint! Two spaces in the front, and two spaces back near the garden center.
Please check out some of these local photographs, and please SHARE this with your local stores if you think they should set up a purple spot parking space for your community’s wounded warriors!
