Ronda Rousey Reveals She Was Suicidal on Ellen

( ENSPIRE NEWS ) Ronda Rousey Reveals She Was Suicidal on Ellen

UFC fans were shocked to see undefeated Ronda Rousey’s undefeated streak come to an end by Holly Holmes. Ronda Rousey opened up on the Ellen Show that she was suicidal.  As a fan you would’t think that loss would have affected her to that extent. There can be tendencies to  think these people we see on television have no emotions and they really do. As tough as a fighter as Ronda was, it still hurt her mentally. And if you know a bit about her story, her father died from suicide which she has been open about as well.

She said that as she sat in a medical room following the fight, her first thought was, “What am I anymore if I’m not this? I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second I’m like, ‘I’m nothing, what do I do anymore, and no one gives a s–t about me anymore without this.’”

Ronda explains the thought of her boyfriend being there for her and wanting to have his children is what kept her alive. She found a source of hope that made her want to keep going. There are so many people whose mind set is the same as Ronda’s at that time. We agree with Ellen that having this conversation and the humility of Ronda can reach so many others. There is this struggle to be perfect and never mess up in order to be great. That way of thinking can add unnecessary and additional stress on to the mind. You’re only defeated in your head and just because you lost does not mean you will continue to lose.

The truth is this interview should send a strong message to those out there who feel they have failed or are not good enough. We all cannot be perfect and what breaks us down makes us stronger. We commend and thank Ronda for sharing her thoughts at her lowest to encourage and motivate others to get back up.
