Many people have said they want smart television that looks at the things that are important in our community and a look at our perspective. The show will be all encompassing and run the spectrum, that’s what I’m trying to give them. I hope they will walk away saying, that’s what I’m talking about, that’s what I want to see. I’m extremely excited about our new show and thrilled to be on Bounce TV.

As conscientious journalism has changed throughout the years due to neighborhood reporting via cell-phone and more opinionated based reporting, Ed Gordon shared with ENSPIRE Magazine some key advice for those who have a devoted passion for journalism.

The one thing that I’ve tried to do and what most people don’t do is listen. The key to a great interview is really listening, and then you can guide the conversation. Learning your craft is what keeps anyone in a career for a long time. When you think about the longevity of athletes such as Serena Williams or Derrick Jeter you see the master of their craft. I would tell any young journalist or any young person to learn their craft and how it morphs from generation to generation and the history of.

When asked about those broadcasters and who we know are agenda based Mr. Gordon stayed true to his direct and honest disposition in saying this:

I just want people to be responsible journalists. I don’t care if you have a particular slant. It would be incorrect to assume that the black press doesn’t have a particular slant and it’s ok to have FOX have a particular slant if you are honest about the slant. But when you, as FOX does, will try to sell that they are NOT slanted to a conservative bend, that they don’t have an agenda, that they are fair and balanced and equal, as they try to say. They are none of those things. So if you come out and say that you are none of those things, I don’t have an issue with you. It’s when you try to paint yourself another way that I have an issue with you. It’s important for us to hold people accountable.

Time and time again Ed Gordan has proven to be a versatile positive journalist and role model who is certain to take Bounce TV’s already remarkable network to even greater heights. Be sure to check out Ed Gordon Tuesday, September 13th at 10pm ET!
