( ENSPIRE ENTERTAINMENT ) Designers Associated presents.. ICONICAL, Fashion Showcase Collaboration
In September my younger sister who models, was asked to walk for one of her favorite designers Mark Walters. It was also her birthday so of course I was there to support and meet some talented designers. Besides it being her birthday, it was one of those occasions that I could not forget. It was an event of individual designers with similar interests coming together for a beneficial purpose to others.
The 1st Annual Designers Associated Fashion located at Brooklyn Commons in Brooklyn, NY was an exciting fashion market show with a blend of exceptional talent from an array of designers. The show hosted by Rae Holiday featured designs from these talented brands whom have come together to tell their stories through their art. Collaborations can be difficult at times but this was one that had a common goal. The goal is to propel each other to another level of exposure and notoriety without holding each other back.
The designers who participated in this production included Romel Brewster of Human Element Square (Founder/Creative Directer Designers Associated) , Margaret Persaud of Gamakache Black, Junik Apparel and Mark Walters presents KFOLKES. These designers used this opportunity to express their artistry with designs ranging from ready-to-wear to couture. There was something for everyone! Art was displayed in more than just fashion, Jahmaize Bey of Cadapolt Images and Apani Smith’s hair presentation had a visual exhibition.
“This wasn’t just a show of designers, but by designers…of all sorts. This is the future of independent designers and entrepreneurs coming together to propel their brands as a conglomerate.such determination makes it an iconic moment. Not only will the stories of the fashion and visual presentations amazing.”
They are also working with their community to gain support and attention. Some of our greatest resources are right within and Designers Associated have made that happen working with The Brooklyn Commons. When you involve your community not only are you bringing positive attention to it but you are opening their eyes, encouraging them and instilling pride.
