The Essence Fest came through New Orleans, LA last weekend with so many activities throughout the city. One of the events #BeTheGlow was a multi-faceted activation at Essence Festival 2017 highlighting various artists, performers, and influencers within the African American community. AT&T’s #BeTheGlow campaign is dedicated to shining a glowing light on the people and ideas driving black culture forward.
Stars interviewed stars and fans were able to meet and greet with their favorite celebrities. #BeTheGlow campaign celebrates African American Music, Art, and Beauty. The term glow has been used to represent pride beauty power and achievement within the African-American community.
Notable guests and celebrities included Traci Ellis Ross, Niecy Nash, Elle Varner, PJ Morton, Boris Kodjoe, Karen Civil, Holly Robinson Peet, Rev Run & Justine Simmons, All STARZ cast. Chef Garvin; Seth Brundle & Leslie Robinson of Butter + Brown; Afrofuturism Fashion show by Designer/Artist, Laolu NYC; Dance Crew Choreographer, Anthony “AJ” Jackson. This event also gave fans an opportunity to be up close with their favorite celebrities.
