( ENSPIRE Community ) SassBoss Link Up Recap
On June 27th, 2017 SassBoxx hosted the first SassBoss Link Up at the New Women Space in Brooklyn, NY. The SassBoss LinkUp is a panel discussion including 4 women who have taken the leap of faith in their careers. The panel included Robin J, Scottie Beam, Taiia Young and Briana Owens and moderated by Denequa Williams of LIT Brooklyn.
For some of the ladies “the leap of faith” didn’t mean quitting a job, but it meant juggling a 9-5 while still living out their dreams and building successful businesses and other professional ventures. It also meant having the confidence to choose happiness over settling. The room filled quickly with women eager to learn and ready to take action in “Bossing up.” Some amazing jewels were dropped, and the guest were ready to watch, as multiple women arrived with a notebook and pen.
As Denequa led the discussion, the panelists dug deep and remained transparent. They spoke on relationships and the value of them. “If they’re constantly throwing out negative energy, get rid of them,” said Scottie Beam. Briana spoke about how dealing with friends who can’t see her vision as far as she can was a big challenge for her, but she realized what “God has for you, is only for you.”
The guests were left feeling inspired and eager to begin a new lifestyle. There were tears, smiles, and positive vibes all night, and the drinks sponsored by Peony Vodka topped the night off with just the right amount of Sass.
As the women walked away here were the top 3 Lessons learned from the night.
- Collaborate Not Compete.
- There is no sleep when trying to be a Boss.
- If it’s that important to you nothing can stop you. Sometimes you can be your biggest downfall; don’t let that happen.
