Bounce TV brought a new season of Family Time and all new Grown Folks! As one of the nation’s fastest-growing television network designed for African American audiences has been going strong with this new Monday primetime line-up. In its fifth hit season, the sitcom Family Time continues to hold nothing back tackling real issues that families face on a regular basis. Grown Folks, an all-new situation comedy about two blue-collar couples who share a duplex while navigating life, marriage, and friendship also created by Bently Kyle Evans.
This season of Family Time, all the characters have been growing just like any other family. This show continues to intrigue people as it has been renewed by Bounce TV for the sixth season. The chemistry within the cast reminds us of modern, classic shows like The Bernie Mac Show and In The House. The kids are growing up and their storylines reflect that. We participated in a cast interview that included Omar Gooding, Angell Conwell, Paula Jai Parker, Tanjareen Thomas and Bentley Evans and they all take their experiences and put it into the storylines. Family Time started as a show that needed to be on TV and now in season 5, they have evolved their storylines with less arguing and bickering and how they have grown through those previous issues. The growing audience is able to take these characters and bring life to them while adding truth about relationships in 2017 in reference to African American families. This show continues to not only grow on set but behind as well. Last season Angell directed an episode and this season Omar wrote for the show as well. You can also see guest stars who have included Tameeka “Tiny” Harris and Fonzworth Bentley.
