New Orleans rapper Dee-1 is excited to release his latest video for the lead single Hood Villains off his new album Slingshot David, which is available for download.  Set in one of the cultures most political forums, “the barbershop,” Dee-1 asks how to fight the many issues plaguing the black community: The Drugs Dealers, The Uncle Toms or Institutional Racism. Before his rap career took off, Dee-1 graduated from LSU in 2008 and taught middle schoolers from 2010 to 2011 in his home state Louisana. In 2013, he released a music video called “Walking Revolution” which informed people about homelessness in America while also giving back.

Previously to this video release, Dee-1 visited SiriusXM’s Sway In The Morning Show to promote the album.  While there, he conducted an in-depth interview discussing his journey within the music industry, which he narrates in Slingshot David; his relationship with Lupe Fiasco, as well as dropped many gems that moved callers to tears.

To cap off the morning, Dee-1 turned into a “Man on Fire” when he rose to the occasion and demolished the infamous The 5 Fingers of Death.” With excitement and versatility,  Dee-1 approached the mic with so much confidence as DJ Wonder threw everything he had making him  the “People’s Champ.”

Dee-1 just wrapped up the video for his new single Love Always Wins featuring Sevyn Streeter.  The two shot the video in LA and will be released in a few weeks.

At the top of 2018, Dee-1 will also be hitting the road for his “Slingshot David Tour,” which kicks off January 12 in Houston at the Bronze Peacock Room and calumniates on February 2 in New Orleans at the House of Blues.
